Ruth Lacey writer author
Welcome to my website. I am a professional writer and editor, with a background in journalism, copywriting, and copy editing. I also write and edit fiction, and lead creative writing workshops.

I began my career as a lawyer, earning an Arts-Law degree from the University of Melbourne. I went on to complete my MPhil in Creative Writing at the University of South Wales (formerly Glamorgan), and a Postgraduate Semester in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

After many years as a journal editor and marcom professional, I now focus on providing writing and editing services to small businesses, non-profits, and creative artists.

To get in touch please send me an email, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. You can find some of my short fiction in Storgy Magazine, Fish Anthology 2017, Litro Magazine, Carve, Overland, Verbsap, and Arc. My stories have been shortlisted for the 2020 Bridport Prize, 2017 Commonwealth Short Story Prize, the Cincinnati Review Schiff Prize, the Fish Short Story Award, and the 2019 Mslexia Novella Prize, among others.

If you're interested in seeing some of my artwork, you can take a look here.
